    Halifax Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - Clinical Trials for the Center for Oncology- ROC


    Under the direction of the Principal Investigator(s) and Clinical Coordinator, the Clinical trials RN is responsible for assisting with the clinical management of the Clinical Trial department; evaluating and facilitating compliance with the requirements of the reserach protocols following good clinical research practice entering adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients on study. Collecting and submitting data to the research bases and pharmaceutical sponsors; and, assisting investigators in follow-up management of clinical trial patients.

    Job Qualifications

    • Currently licensed as a RN in the State of Florida.
    • Bachelor degree/diploma/associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
    • Broad Nursing background including oncology; data management experience preferred
    • National Oncology Nursing Certification and/or national clinical research asscociate certification preferred
    • Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel.
    • Personal professional development, accountability, organization and leadership in the performance of professional nursing practice.
    • Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with co-workers and key stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
    • Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families.
    • Strong Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, hospital based and various outside IRB and reserach base / pharmaceutical sponsor computer systems.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Performs daily screening activities to assist Investigators to identify potential clinical trial patients for enrollment
    • Collaborates with Investigator(s) to ascertain study patient eligibility for clinical trials.
    • Daily Screening activities are performed per department guidelines to meet annual Commission on Cancer patient accrual goals
    • Assessment for treatment related toxicities and non treatment symptoms ensuring evidence based symptom management, while maintaining trial compliance.
    • Appropriate protocol information communicated to the study team
