  • Overview

    Halifax Health is seeking a Senior Auditor for the Internal Audit Services Department.


    This individual will be responsible for performing independent and/or team internal audits/projects (i.e. operational, financial, compliance, information technology) in accordance with the annual audit plan, perform special projects as requested, prepare appropriate workpaper documentation supporting the audit work performed and conclusions made, prepare verbal and written communication to management on the results of audits/projects completed, and attends professional training to meet education requirements. 

    Job Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related concentration.

    • Healthcare and/or auditing experience required.

    • Professional certification such as a CIA, CPA, or CPC.

    • Ability to perform audits based on audit standards and programs.

    • Effective analytical and organizational skills.

    • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

    • Ability to build working relationships with Team Members.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Carries out assigned audits timely.
    • Demonstrates ability to plan for audits, develop audit steps, and analyze risks to operations.
    • Works with leadership to develop action plans to improve operations.
    • Ability to prepare audit reports and presentations useful to management and governance.
    • Demonstrates documentation skills that support audit findings and recommendations.
    • Conducts effective follow-up on agreed upon action plans.
    • Maintains a professional image and ethical behavior.
    • Performs special projects and other tasks as requested.
