Halifax Health - Hospice is seeking a Medical Secretary.
The Hospice Medical Secretary performs departmental tasks to support the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) and clinical interdisciplinary group (IDG) members. Responsibilities include clerical/secretarial responsibilities, answering organizational and team phone lines and various tasks to ensure high quality patient care.
General clerical duties; including making copies, coordinating mailings, typing correspondence, minutes and other documents.
Answering large volume of calls for organization and team maintaining excellent customer service.
Communicates, obtains pertinent information, maintaining the dignity, confidentiality and cultural sensitivity of all individuals of varying socio-economic groups.
Maintains, updates and orders forms and medical supplies as needed.
Data entry and collection, creating reports and gathering other needed information for Patient Care Coordinator (PCC), IDG meetings, etc.
High standard of customer service and phone etiquette, providing thorough hand off to appropriate team members to assist and support patients, families and community.
Provides support to PCC, IDG and other departments and teams in the organization.
Maintain working order of all company office equipment.
Ensuring appropriate supervisory personnel are made aware of items of concern/problems quickly.
Maintains the cleanliness and organization of assigned work environment.
