Overview

Halifax Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for our Trauma Surgical Team.

Summary

The Nurse Practitioner is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, is responsible for patient evaluation and care through the performance of pertinent history and physical examination, assessment of needs and delivery of appropriate treatment. Provides nursing care and health teaching to an assigned group of adult and geriatric patients in an observation setting. All duties and responsibilities are accomplished according to the collaborative practice agreement required by the State of Florida.

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Masters in Nursing program with a focus on acute care.
  • Current APRN licensure in the state of Florida.
  • Board certification in acute care or a relevant specialty.
  • Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice
  • Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute chronic patient problems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with trauma surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive acute care to trauma patients.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history reviews, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretation.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for trauma surgery patients, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Perform advanced procedures and interventions as required, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, providing support and expertise in acute care situations.
  • Participate in trauma-related research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational programs.
  • Educate patients and their families on the recovery process, postoperative care, and preventive measures.
