Overview

Halifax Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Analyst I for the PBFS - Administration Department.

Summary

Work with operational functions and data related to Revenue Cycle systems, specifically dealing with patient liability. Perform tasks related to the hospital Revenue Cycle while supporting and acting as a liaison between billing systems, staff, and leadership. Review patient liability related reports and trends to give analysis on account receivables activity to leadership. This includes the review of hospital, physician and third party billing systems for Collections and Customer Service. Develop training materials, operational reporting, and creation of workflows.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Health Services Administration, Health Information Management or relevant degree required or Associates degree with minimum of 4 years of experience in revenue cycle.

     

  • Internal HFMA credential required (must be completed within six months of hire).

  •  

    Two years of healthcare, business or analytical experience required.

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

     

  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects.

     

  • Proficient in creating training materials and documentation with the ability to train others.

     

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

     

  • Proficient PC skills and knowledge. Understands intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel functions.

     

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; capable of explaining procedures in writing/verbally.

     

  • Must be able to function and meet deadlines under stressful conditions.

     

  • Hospital Electronic Medical System training highly recommended.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review tasks and worklists to assist with the coordination of an action plan with supervisors and managers.
  • Supports Customer Service and Collections team by working with leadership to distribute information that will assist and improve Revenue Cycle performance.
  • Provide solutions regarding issues with data analytics.
  • Help maintain Revenue Cycle operational metrics and measures.
  • Assume responsibility for maintenance, development, and optimization of department systems
  • Suggest process changes to assist workflows and enhance policies/procedures.
  • Assist with month end reporting and analyze data as well as running and producing recurring reports.
  • Work with Revenue Cycle staff, Internal Audit, and hospital leadership with regard to department needs.
  • Help create knowledge management materials to include training content as needed. Participate in planning for future training needs.
  • Work with internal IT teams to assist with testing of new system functionality. Learn, implement, and train associated workflows/processes.
  • Work with management on project related needs and provide analysis for initiatives and changes.
  • Responsible for understanding the impact of system projects and policy and procedure changes.
  • Represent Revenue Cycle teams in relevant meetings and/or committees.
  • Promote and adhere to departmental and organizational information, security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
