Overview

Halifax Health is seeking a Laundry Aide for the Laundry/Linen Department.

Summary

This individual will feed various laundry equipment to process hospital linens. Hand folds linen items.

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent highly preferred
  • Ability to follow directions

  • On the job training provided

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inserts and/or feeds sheets, spreads and other linen into folding machines.

  • Separates small items from sheets, blankets and spreads and sorts by types of items.

  • Hand folds gowns, blankets, pillow cases, towels, baby linen, Operating Room uniforms and linen.

  • Stacks linen that comes from folding machine into bulk carts.

  • Operates folding machine, irons, etc.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
