Overview

Halifax Health is seeking a Dietary Supervisor for the Food and Nutritional Services Department.

Summary

This individual is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the activities of the Dietary staff.  This position also serves to supervise the tray line and meal service to patients and cafeteria. 

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must possess five years in a supervisory role, in a high volume retail food service operation.
  • Experience with cash handling is highly desirable.
  • Must have experience with HACCP.
  • Serve-Safe Certification is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Good organization skills and ability to work within pre-defined time frames and deadlines necessary.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, their families and with other health Team Members.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must have superior customer service skills and professional appearance. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsibility of sanitation, food temperature logs, and dish machine temperature logs.
  • Oordering food and supplies.
  • Stocking doctors lounges and special functions.
