Overview

Halifax Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Laboratory.

Summary

This individual is responsible for collecting blood from all age groups of patients by performing phlebotomy to provide appropriate and timely specimens for laboratory analysis. The Phlebotomist is also responsible for communicating and distributing information to and from the clinical laboratory.

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required 
  • Successful completion of phlebotomy training, or on-the-job training with a previous employer
  • Must have at least 1 years experience
  • The ability to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks in stressful situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel required
  • Must have excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Customer service is paramount
