Overview

Halifax Health is seeking a Patient Accounting Representative Claims Processor for PBFS - Physician Services.

Summary

The Patient Accounting Rep Claims Processor will review, process, bill and follow up on claims to third party payors. Additionally, this individual will pursue third party resources in a persistent and timely manner, effectively communicating with payors/guarantors for timely resolution of accounts.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Two years of college preferred or minimum of four years experience in both billing and collections in a healthcare setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare provider third party insurance billing as well as the collection and follow up processes.
  • Must be familiar with billing and collections related to managed care contracts.
  • Proficient PC skills and knowledge.
  • Must have excellent reading comprehension and organizational skills.
  • Must possess ability to work well under pressure, be adept on a calculator and have good math skills
  • Must be familiar with electronic medical billing systems and related medical terminology
